Kate Stalker

Lead Physiotherapist,

Clinic Owner

• BSc Physiotherapy
(WITS, South Africa)
• Master of Manual Therapy
(UWA, Australia)

Kate hails from South Africa where she completed her undergraduate degree and then worked for two years in a premier teaching musculoskeletal practice in Johannesburg. Wanting to work and travel more, she moved to Edinburgh where she worked as a locum in the NHS. The move to the East Midlands was to take up the role of Senior Physio for Derbyshire County Cricket, where she worked for almost 4 years, travelling full-time with the team, and also looking after the academy cricketers. Wanting to expand her knowledge she embarked upon a Masters in Perth (Australia) in Manual Therapy.

After completing her Masters Degree she started work as physio for the New Zealand cricket team, travelling the world with the team for two and a half years before returning to the UK. Kate started working at this clinic in 2011, finally purchasing the clinic in 2014.

Kate was also extremely fortunate to work as a physio at the London 2012 Olympics working in track & field. Kate’s main areas of interest include treatment of fascia, knee injuries and complicated longstanding injuries. She has a soft spot for treating cricket injuries because of her background in cricket but she also sees a number of elite athletes from all over the world when they are in Derby and also remotely. From football to Crossfit, to Ironman and pole vault! Treatment from Kate will be fairly hands-on (if appropriate!) with a strong emphasis on rehab and strength work that the patient will be given to complete on their own. No resting rehab here!!

In her free time, she likes to walk her crazy working cocker spaniel, ride her bike (especially on Zwift!), weight train, ski and spend time with her family and closest friends. She also enjoys travelling and exploring the UK and abroad. Her husband thinks she likes camping but she hates it ;-)
